AutoCAD Level Two (2) is a six-month pre-requisite training course. The course is more detailed than the previous AutoCAD level one, designed for trainees in the Electrical Installation level two class. This course aims to enhance previous knowledge of using Auto-CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. Trainees will spend semester one exploring the AutoCAD features, user interface, and operating the AutoCAD software. In semester two, trainees will focus on Drafting Building Layout and Details Using CAD and Drafting Electrical Layout for PUC Approvals. Together, these skills will enable the trainees to produce a set of drawings in AutoCAD that is required by the PUC (Public Utility Commission).

I have been the Technical Drawing/ AutoCAD instructor at Cayo CET since 2018. I teach Technical Drawing/ AutoCAD to Electrical Installation levels one and two, AC and Refrigeration, and Furniture-Making classes. In high school, while trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up, I took several vocational subjects, but it was not until I took Technical Drawing and Building Technology classes that I found my love for design. I then decided that I wanted to pursue my studies in the engineering field. I hold an Associate’s degree in Architecture from the University of Belize. Growing up, my parents were both teachers, and their involvement in education seemed to have reflected on me. I love using my knowledge to help my trainees be more successful in their careers, encouraging, inspiring, and leading others to grow. I especially want to encourage more women to join the construction trades that Cayo Centre for Employment Training offers and construction careers in general.
