Level 2 Commercial Food Preparation Cooking seeks to provide trainees with more hands-on practical skills. They are building on the base fundamentals covered in Commercial Food Preparation Cooking Level 1. Level 2 trainees will continue practicing and developing their technical skills by producing more elaborate dishes with elevated plating techniques, catering function, inventory keeping, basic bartending, and wine service. Individuals will become more self-aware, self-monitoring, and able to self-correct when performing a task. The trainee will be empowered to grow as a skilled/independent worker, which is essential for gaining employment. They will continue to expand critical soft skills such as work ethics, communicating with co-works, fostering team-building skills, and customer relations. This program lasts six months at the Centre with a two-month internship (on-the-job training) in the Tourism Industry in a restaurant or resort kitchen.
I have been involved in the construction and electrical industry and can attest to the growth of the technical industry. I am privileged to have the opportunity to train the younger generation with a trade that will provide sustainability for a lifetime since we are now living in the technological era where mostly everything relies on Electricity.
