The Tourism Hospitality Management Level I programme is designed to train individuals to a high standard. After successful completion trainees would have attained the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to gain employment and progress in the Tourism and Hospitality service sector.
The Tourism and Hospitality Management course works hand in hand with industry professionals. The course includes Food and Beverage dining room procedures, housekeeping, front desk, and Belize today modules. Training is done on campus. The programme also includes food preparation fundamentals which teaches trainees pantry cooking and the different ways of plating and serving food in a restaurant. Bar tending focuses on teaching trainees the various garnishes of cocktails and how to pair them with drinks. Some of the drinks are shaken, frozen drinks, martinis, shooters, and procedures for serving wines.
In the Belize Today module trainees learn the different cultures and beliefs found in Belize. The different Mayan sites and tourist attractions found in Belize are explored. At the end of the course, trainees will develop the correct attitudes, skills, and knowledge required for the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
At the end of the programme, on the job training is carried out at various resorts and business establishments within the country of Belize.
