It all commenced on September 7th, 2014 at 8:30 am at the Cayo Center for Employment Training. It was my first food preparation practical session and it was conducted in an actual kitchen. I was nervous since I was one of the new learners. The others had previous knowledge of working in a kitchen. Our instructor set us in groups of 4 to assist each other throughout the course of the day whilst cooking. I entered the kitchen with my nerves killing me. As I began to cook and my confidence grew. It was fun but at the same time my tension was evident since it was my first day. The session ended and we needed to present by serving the dishes to our instructor. We decorated and presented an appetizer, a main course, and a desert. The instructor approved. It was one of the greatest experiences I’ll ever had.
